When You Thought 2020 Meant "Perfect Vision"

The face you make when what you thought would happen isn't happening.

No, I'm not here to write the cliché post about how 2020 swerved on us (very badly in fact.) If we're from the same world, "clearly" this year hasn't been what we envisioned it to be but here we are. Believe me when I say, "I am not a planner!" Don't believe me? Ask Paige, she knows. So I don't like to plan, but I love to think about what my future will look like.

I know that this time has brought about many situations, circumstances, thoughts, feelings, epiphanies, and solutions. And wherever you stand today and how you feel is valid. We're all entitled to our opinions and sometimes we just have to bank on that. Does it mean you're wrong because you feel differently than the people you choose to be around? Nah. Sometimes the solution to an uproar is to listen. That's it. Just listen.

Let's bring something to the forefront. You didn't need what you thought you needed. Most times we think about people when something similar is said, but that's not what I'm hinting at today. I want you to think about all of the things you expected from people. Past tense. Back then. Before now. Sometimes the things we think we need can be approval of validity, responses in general, protection, presence, and concerns. At this point, we've all had more alone time than we actually thought we cared for, but while being in that place, we've had to make some choices, and when we looked around and saw that there was no one else in the room. . . Are you with me? Sometimes when we think we're unsure, we go to other people for approval, but is it their responsibility to give us approval? As soon as we open our mouths we immediately pull all of the things I previously listed (validity, responses, protection, presence, and concerns) from the people around us. Is that fair to them? To think a little deeper, do they even withhold the strength to properly give us what we NEED, or are they only able to give us the things we are desperately SEEKING? So let's be cautious in what we pull from others to make ourselves feel better, because most times, those things are not within the people who we think hold the answers (if you're with me, GO THERE!) All things we seek should be meditated upon, the ways to find them are rooted in us. We have to learn how to tap into the correct routes to fulfill and allow what we are seeking to flow into and within us. This reminds me of how 'filled up' we are, aren't, and can be. Can we fill ourselves? Let's not continue to deplete others when we are able to grant things to ourselves. Let's not leave people on E and run off with a full tank. And even when you're full, dig deeper and think about the possibilities of the things someone could have gassed you up with.

Our lives can't be perfect. Things will always happen unexpectedly and we will have to adapt because of it. During adaptation we learn more about ourselves, grow, become intrigued, and at the end of the day - make things happen. And that's my reminder for you today: You are making things happen, whether you "planned" to or not, and the reactions are playing out second by second. Some of which you are able to see within a day, and others that you won't see until it's time (or in the future as someone said.)

What is the thing you worked out or realized that you previously had no intentions to ponder about? What's that you say? You were successful in doing something you had never done before? Well, I want to hear about it.

I absolutely love this. You’re so right. I previously started my journey on owning my own business. It’s been pretty successful and i honestly did not think it would be. Or that i could actually do.
