He was shooting a video at the bottom of the hill in the canyon. I pulled up in our driveway and walked down the street. We caught up. I told him that I wanted to do a school supply drive before school started back. He told me that he wanted to do a leadership camp to prepare them for the start of school. Mind blown. One of my cousins reached out and wanted in on the thing too. We were like, let's do it!
So we did. And about 15 kids showed up. But we did what we had planned to do. Kids were motivated, inspired, and left with some supplies to have on the first day of school. Mission accomplished!
July 2018

A year later, we decided to do it again. Our mission was the same. To inspire and lead children. To ask them about their thoughts and how they felt. But this time it ended up being better. About 35 kids showed up, and this time PARENTS and adults of the community also supported! The first year, we spoke. The second year, we asked others to speak and they were willing to do so. Big thanks to Dalvin Harris, Dalvin Taylor, and Frank McCollins.

Summer 2020 is almost here and we expect great things to happen at the Heart of a Champion + Forty Spears Leadership Camp this year!
